We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team in the cardiac cath lab. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring safe procedures are carried out in the delivery of cardiac services to patients.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities- Under general supervision, the Cardiovascular Technologist is responsible for ensuring safe procedures are carried out in the delivery of cardiac services to patients.
- Analyzes, uses, and cares for all technical equipment and supplies and produces and maintains accurate records and reports as necessary.
- Assists the physician with cardiac, vascular, and IR procedures, and is competent in hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, aseptic technique, and CVL scrub procedures and sterile equipment usage.
- Ensures patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility's policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
- Communicates with courtesy when interacting with patients, physicians, facility staff, vendors, and the public in person, on the telephone, or by email.
- Performs the role of CVL scrub by anticipating the needs of the physician and keeping the circulating nurse informed of any needs throughout a procedure.
- Ensures all supplies, equipment, and medications are assembled prior to the start of the procedure.
- Combines the knowledge of human anatomy, cardiovascular procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies to facilitate the physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring all new equipment requests are appropriately analyzed based on utilization and data from the provider.
- Maintains radiation safety at all times in accordance with radiation safety policies and procedures.
- Promotes a safe environment and takes appropriate action in emergency situations, being aware of and controlling hazards which may endanger patients, visitors, and employees.
Graduate from an AMA-approved school of Radiological technology or a certified RCIS program, AS or BS degree preferred. High school graduate or equivalent required. ARRT or RCIS Certification required. Current BLS and ACLS required.
ExperienceMinimum of 3-5 years of cardiac cath lab experience.
Working KnowledgeAble to perform at a proficient level all radiology procedures related to the cardiac cath lab. Able to scrub and monitor to assist and perform all other tasks as needed to perform all cases in cath lab procedures, including pacemaker, vascular, cardiac, and pain management procedures.
Technical/Motor SkillsAbility to manipulate various types of electronic, radiographic, and clinical equipment. Calibrate and troubleshoot various types of cath lab and computer equipment. Ability to operate specialty equipment in the facility and to perform tasks at a user level.
CompensationMinimum: USD $33.00/Hr. Maximum: USD $48.00/Hr.
