Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Rad Technologist to join our team at Southcoast Health System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing diversified clinical patient care, technical, and related duties within assigned modality. This includes patient assessments, correlating clinical findings with exam/procedure requests, and documenting all data within the EHR. You will also educate patients for exams, position patients, and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Additionally, you will identify, prepare, and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure, and select technical factors/parameters/sequences to produce quality images. You will apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others, and be aware of MR safety practices. You will also assist physicians in performing procedures. Responsibilities

  • Perform diversified clinical patient care, technical, and related duties within assigned modality.
  • Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request.
  • Document all data within the EHR.
  • Educate patients for exams.
  • Position patients and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies.
  • Identify, prepare, and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure.
  • Select technical factors/parameters/sequences to produce quality images.
  • Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Be aware of MR safety practices.
  • Assist physicians in performing procedures.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Attainment of post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Interventional Radiology RT(VI)/(CI)/or (CV).
  • Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Post-primary certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography and ACLS is preferred.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Cardiovascular Credentialing International is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
