Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Parts Advisor to join our team at Briggs Automotive Group. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery of parts to our technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide expert advice on parts compatibility, availability, and pricing to customers and technicians.
    • Greet and assist customers in-person, over the phone, or online with parts inquiries and orders.
  • Parts Management:
    • Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of parts and accessories.
    • Receive and inspect parts shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Order Processing:
    • Process parts orders efficiently and accurately using our dealership's management software.
    • Prepare parts for delivery or pick-up, ensuring all orders are complete and accurate.
  • Collaboration with Service Department:
    • Work closely with service technicians to understand their parts needs for specific repairs and maintenance tasks.
    • Ensure timely delivery of parts to the service area to support efficient workflow.
  • Sales and Upselling:
    • Promote and sell additional parts, accessories, and related services to customers.
    • Identify opportunities to upsell products that enhance vehicle performance or appearance.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of parts transactions, inventory levels, and orders.
    • Generate reports on parts usage, inventory status, and sales performance.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure all parts meet quality standards and are free from defects.
    • Address any issues with defective or incorrect parts promptly.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
    • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding parts storage and handling.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in automotive parts or a related field is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with customers, technicians, and other dealership staff.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Work Environment
  • Primarily in a dealership or automotive parts store environment.
  • May involve occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, depending on the season and facility conditions.
