We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to join our team. This role is integral to supporting our workforce and ensuring a positive employee experience. You will serve as the primary HR contact for staff, collaborating closely with management and global HR teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage recruitment processes: identify staffing needs, post job openings, source candidates, and coordinate interviews and pre-employment assessments.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Act as a liaison with external staffing agencies to coordinate temporary staffing solutions.
- Address employee relations matters, conduct investigations, and manage disciplinary procedures.
- Facilitate the union grievance process and maintain all pertinent documentation.
- Assist employees with understanding and accessing benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
- Administer disability programs and ensure compliance with applicable laws regarding employee leave.
- Coordinate performance evaluations and recognition initiatives within the organization.
- Manage timekeeping for both hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accurate payroll submissions.
- Maintain employee attendance records and manage absence tracking systems.
- Input and update employee data in the HR information system, including records for hires, terminations, promotions, and transfers.
- Conduct exit interviews and prepare necessary documentation for employee separations.
- Organize employee engagement events, meetings, and team-building activities.
- Provide support to the HR Director on special projects and compile reports as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- HR certification (PHR or SPHR) is a plus.
- A minimum of 3 years of HR Generalist experience is required.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting is essential.
- Familiarity with union environments is advantageous.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems is necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities are essential.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient problem-solving skills are necessary.
Compensation: $30.00 to $34.00 per hour
