Join the State University of New York at Buffalo as a Facilities Maintenance Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our diverse campus facilities. This position is essential for maintaining an environment that fosters learning and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of maintenance teams, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation across multiple campuses.
  • Lead and mentor a skilled workforce, promoting collaboration and a culture of safety.
  • Manage maintenance contracts and assess the need for procurement to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Implement and direct a comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance program to uphold the integrity of university infrastructure.
  • Act as the primary liaison for interactions with campus partners and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective service delivery.
  • Conduct inspections of work performed by external contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Engage in the design and renovation review process, providing expert feedback on all design submissions.
  • Coordinate multi-trade projects, ensuring timely responses to emergencies and equipment failures.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in maintenance operations, building construction, or renovation projects.
  • Alternatively, one year of permanent service as a Maintenance Supervisor 1 or Trades Supervisor 1.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of relevant industry experience, particularly in managing plumbing teams within large-scale facilities.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and university-specific software.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a proven ability to foster a safe working environment.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be capable of performing all job functions, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in various environments, including confined spaces and areas with high-pressure systems.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
