Our Opportunity

The Facilities Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in the ongoing development and supervision of the college's facilities management, maintenance, and strategic planning. Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities, this position is responsible for coordinating and directing all aspects of facilities operations, including thorough inspections of college properties, equipment, and buildings to ensure safety, operational sustainability, and compliance with various codes and regulations, including ADA and safety standards.

This role requires a strong commitment to upholding the policies and procedures of the College and relevant governing bodies, with an emphasis on interpreting federal and state regulations.

As an exempt professional position, the Facilities Operations Manager operates with a high degree of independence and minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage efficient facilities operations, including maintenance of equipment, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and landscaping.
  • Conduct inspections of college facilities to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment necessary for facility maintenance.
  • Prepare specifications for maintenance projects and manage budgets and staffing for various initiatives.
  • Coordinate all activities related to facilities maintenance, repair, and improvement projects.
  • Assist in budget preparation and management for the facilities department.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff, addressing any issues in compliance with College policies.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable codes and regulations.
  • Support the Director of Facilities in establishing and implementing departmental goals and policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in facility operations, maintenance, and project management.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as computerized work order systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and travel between campuses as necessary.
