Role Overview: This position is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the educational facilities. The Evening Custodian will be responsible for various custodial tasks, ensuring that the premises are kept in excellent condition for students and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively as a member of the custodial team.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a secure working environment.
- Ensure personal health and physical readiness to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Perform essential custodial functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Primary Duties:
- Regularly sweep, mop, and scrub floors; dust surfaces; empty waste containers; wash windows and walls; and rearrange furniture as necessary.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and other communal areas to uphold hygiene standards.
- Operate cleaning machinery and equipment efficiently.
- Assist with additional tasks as directed by supervisory staff.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct minor landscaping and exterior maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and materials.
- Secure the building by turning off lights and locking doors; report any safety or security concerns.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
Annual Duties:
- Engage in seasonal cleaning and maintenance activities, including floor care and furniture arrangement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of custodial practices and facility maintenance.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor.
- Valid driver's license and compliance with background clearance requirements.
