The Global Schools Program is a flagship initiative of the SDSN Association that aims to create a world where every primary and secondary school student is equipped with the knowledge, values, and skills necessary for effectively responding to the greatest challenges of this century. We work with schools and educators to integrate sustainable development into school curricula, operations, and activities.

About the Project

In partnership with Siemens Energy, the SDSN Association will launch the Schools for Goal 7 program, which trains teachers and students on Energy and Sustainable Development using gamified curricula. The program aims to provide practical, hands-on experience to students in engaging with topics such as the energy transition, renewable energy, climate change, and sustainability.

About the Role

We are seeking an Education Consultant to lead the development of curricular materials and teacher training for the Schools for Goal 7 program. The successful candidate will have experience in curriculum development, teaching, and project management, and will be able to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and time zones.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop curricular materials and teacher training programs for the Schools for Goal 7 program;
  • Coordinate and lead a monthly meeting for a 20-person educator committee to give feedback on curricular resources;
  • Recruit and administer online pilot training for at least 100 teachers, and monitor their participation and progress;
  • Promote and showcase program outcomes and/or the launch of curricular resources via the drafting of blogs, press releases, and the creation of communications materials;
  • Administer developed surveys and analyze data to provide inputs to the final outcome report.
Qualifications:
  • Professional fluency in English required; other languages are considered a plus;
  • Degree in education, communications, sustainability, project management, teaching, child development, and/or related field;
  • Exceptional writing, communication, drafting, editing, and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and time zones;
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills;
  • Prior experience with curriculum development and/or as a teacher/administrator in a primary or secondary school setting;
  • Prior experience engaging with STEM or renewable energy topics in an educational setting considered a plus;
  • Prior experience working with school stakeholders at all levels of curriculum integration including teachers, administrators, and students;
  • Prior experience organizing and leading workshops for large audiences both online and in-person;
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and ability to effectively communicate the mandate of the SDSN Association and the Global Schools Program to learners of all ages.
