Position Title: Supply Clerk
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, unpack, and assess incoming shipments for any discrepancies or damages, reporting findings to the designated personnel.
- Maintain precise inventory records, including quantities, locations, and descriptions, utilizing inventory management software.
- Distribute supplies, materials, and equipment to departmental staff, documenting issuance details to ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels.
- Conduct routine inventory audits and engage in annual physical inventory counts to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare and process purchase orders for stock replenishment, including obtaining quotes and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Organize and uphold the cleanliness and efficiency of storage areas, ensuring items are stored safely and are easily accessible.
- Coordinate the disposal of surplus, obsolete, or damaged equipment and supplies in compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new inventory control procedures aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing waste.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as a supply clerk.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with various cleaning methods.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
WORK LOCATION & HOURS
The physical work location is limited to the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Hours will align with the core hours of the Department of State.
OVERTIME POLICY
No overtime funding will be provided.
