Job Overview
InsideHigherEd is creating a pool of qualified candidates to teach in our Natural Resources program. As an adjunct faculty member, you will play a vital role in guiding students beyond the classroom, embodying our core values, and demonstrating a commitment to excellence in educational content and delivery. You will collaborate effectively in a team environment, embrace innovation to meet the evolving needs of the program and industry, and utilize technology to enhance learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement effective instructional strategies, including alternative delivery methods when suitable.
- Support and guide students facing challenges with assignments, assessments, course material, and academic concerns.
- Conduct skills assessments throughout the course to evaluate student performance effectively.
- Encourage student success through timely communication, constructive feedback, and tailored strategies for diverse learning needs.
- Adhere to institutional policies regarding student assessment, record keeping, grading, and maintaining office hours for student support.
- Meet professional standards by staying current in your field and contributing to a collaborative culture within the institution.
- Participate in departmental and advisory meetings as required.
- Engage in relevant professional development activities, including diversity training and technology workshops.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the institution's mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (consideration may be given to candidates with an Associate Degree based on experience).
- A minimum of two years of professional experience in the relevant field, with at least one year within the last five years. Teaching experience may substitute for one year of occupational experience.
- Preferred: Five years of professional experience.
- Prior teaching or training experience is advantageous.
- Must meet and maintain institutional requirements throughout employment.
- Valid driver's license required.

- Familiarity with contemporary educational methods, including learner-centered instruction and assessment strategies.
- Proficient in educational technology and alternative instructional methods.
- Ability to integrate multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with industry partners to address needs.
- Experience in resource management applications is beneficial.
Compensation
Hourly pay rate: $45.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, education, and market data.

Adjunct instructors are contracted on a per-course basis, with total hours ranging from approximately 3 to 8 hours per week, including day, evening, and weekend classes. Courses may be delivered in traditional and alternative formats.
New adjunct faculty must complete mandatory training within the first month of hire.
