Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Account Sales Specialist to join our team at The Odom Corporation. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for managing assigned accounts, promoting new products, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned territory, including keeping abreast of business conditions and recognizing new opportunities within each account.
  • Develop trust and confidence with retailers as a merchandising consultant.
  • Prepare for sales calls by establishing customer history, credit information, and suggesting sales strategies.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reporting to sales management on sales distribution and promotion issues.
  • Maximize sales results through effective pre-planning and execution of daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.
  • Make persuasive presentations, answer questions, and overcome objections to present our products.
  • Display or demonstrate product, using samples or catalogs, and emphasize salable features.
  • Quote prices and solicit orders with the assistance of a current price book.
  • Make sales and follow-up calls to customers and prospects, presenting our brands of products.
  • Write orders, design displays, and organize on-site promotions.
  • Understand in-store merchandising principles and apply them in assigned retail accounts.
  • Influence retailers to use shelf management, cold box, and floor display guidelines to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Use point-of-sale materials to increase merchandising success.
  • Stock and rotate products on the floor, in coolers, bins, or shelves according to identifying information.
  • Examine stock to verify conformance to quality specifications and take pride in products being distributed.
  • Perform essential job duties on time, efficiently, accurately, safely, and in a time-sensitive manner.
  • Accurately document the number of products or items received or distributed or set aside due to damage or "out-of-date".
  • Participate in on-the-job training related to Odom procedures regarding merchandiser job duties.
  • Help ensure a safe and clean working area during shift by discarding trash and empty boxes prior to leaving each customer account.
  • Display promotional materials, such as POS and signage, according to company and store policies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; one to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have valid driver's license, good driving record, proof of auto insurance (SR-22 is not acceptable), and own means of reliable transportation.
  • Prefer beverage sales and/or merchandising experience, knowledge of local market, customer service skills, and experience in the distribution industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be self-motivated, a self-starter, and able to work with very little direct supervision.
  • Highly organized, with a strong ability to work quickly and accurately while handling competing priorities.
