Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute intricate tasks utilizing judgment in the assessment, selection, and alteration of established engineering methods and practices.
  • Independently manage the control systems design team throughout the design and documentation phases of projects, while also identifying opportunities for additional control systems design and integration work.
  • Oversee the evaluation and strategizing of enhancements to control systems.
  • Organize meetings and engage in reviews with various regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Coordinate workload during design and construction documentation phases to ensure timely completion of project documents.
  • Lead the creation of preliminary engineering reports and studies aimed at proposing and developing solutions for facility and process control systems.
  • Act as the Engineer of Record, ensuring the production of biddable and technically sound SCADA/I&C construction documents.
  • Conduct systems integration for the I&C system, including programming of PLCs/PCs and customizing HMIs for various control software applications.
  • Draft and refine I&C specifications, and select appropriate equipment and monitoring/control devices.
  • Engage in collaborative scoping and proposal development alongside clients and marketing teams.
  • Participate in the planning and specification of applied technology solutions encompassing instrumentation and control, advanced automation, artificial intelligence, Operational Technology (OT) networking, data management & analytics, augmented reality, and vision control.
  • Review electrical documentation for discrepancies across all disciplines.
  • Collaborate with and support affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, ensuring agreed-upon modifications are incorporated into project documents.
  • Provide construction contract administration as required.
  • Conduct QA/QC on the work of other I&C Project Engineers, Coordinators, or Technicians as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Expertise in advanced control systems topics, including data management, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and network architecture.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Experience in automation programming.
  • Background in designing control systems.
  • Experience managing control systems projects.
  • Familiarity with automation hardware, including but not limited to Allen-Bradley, Emerson, Foxboro, Modicon, Siemens, and GE.
  • Knowledge of automation software, including but not limited to Wonderware, iFix, FactoryTalk, VTScada, and Ignition.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential.
