As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing intricate tasks that require critical judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of established engineering methodologies.
  • Independently managing the control systems design team throughout the design and documentation phases of projects, while also identifying opportunities for additional design and integration work.
  • Leading the evaluation and strategizing for enhancements in control systems.
  • Facilitating meetings and engaging in reviews with various regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Coordinating workloads during design and construction documentation phases to ensure timely completion.
  • Overseeing the creation of preliminary engineering reports and studies aimed at proposing and developing solutions for facility and process control systems.
  • Acting as the Engineer of Record, responsible for the generation of accurate and biddable SCADA/I&C construction documents.
  • Conducting systems integration for the I&C system, which includes programming PLCs/PCs and customizing HMIs for various control software applications.
  • Drafting and refining I&C specifications, as well as selecting appropriate equipment and monitoring/control devices.
  • Collaborating in joint scoping and proposal development alongside clients and marketing teams.
  • Participating in the planning and specification of applied technology solutions, encompassing instrumentation and control, advanced automation, artificial intelligence, Operational Technology (OT) networking, data management & analytics, augmented reality, and vision control.
  • Reviewing electrical documentation for potential conflicts across all disciplines.
  • Coordinating with and supporting affected disciplines regarding addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, while ensuring agreed-upon modifications are incorporated into project documents.
  • Providing construction contract administration as required.
  • Conducting QA/QC assessments on the work of other I&C Project Engineers, Coordinators, or Technicians as necessary.
  • Performing additional duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Expertise in advanced control systems topics, including data management, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and network architecture.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Experience in automation programming.
  • Background in designing control systems.
  • Experience in managing control systems projects.
  • Familiarity with automation hardware such as Allen-Bradley, Emerson, Foxboro, Modicon, Siemens, and GE.
  • Knowledge of automation software including Wonderware, iFix, FactoryTalk, VTScada, and Ignition.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential.
