Position Overview:
System One is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to join our team for a long-term onsite opportunity. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in systems administration, server infrastructure upkeep, and significant expertise with VMware Horizon.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee systems administration tasks, including network, file and print services, virtualization, and hardware/software support.
- Manage directory services, patch management, system backups, and storage area networks (SAN).
- Monitor and maintain inventory of IT resources.
- Collaborate with the helpdesk ticketing system and IT support teams to resolve incidents efficiently.
- Provide top-tier maintenance and support for enterprise systems hardware and software.
- Implement and troubleshoot advanced IT solutions.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, certificate authorities, Exchange, and database management.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and inventory for servers, hardware, and software.
- Engage in IT Change Management processes and compliance audits, including audit log collection and reporting.
- Utilize system monitoring tools to ensure the integrity and availability of all IT server resources, analyzing system and application logs.
- Conduct daily backup operations, ensuring successful backups and proper media management.
- Configure new services and hardware as needed for system projects or troubleshooting.
- Provide after-hours system support during scheduled and unscheduled outages, along with standard monthly patching requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in a technical lead role for IT projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows server operating systems, including Active Directory and Exchange.
- Experience managing virtualized environments and M365.
- Familiarity with VDI technologies (VMware Horizon) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
- Knowledge of patch management software and server backup/recovery tools, preferably Veeam or Commvault.
- Skilled in performance analysis tools for system monitoring, performance tuning, and resource optimization.
- Ability to assist in developing and participating in disaster recovery exercises.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, and PDF software.
- Understanding of ITIL concepts, particularly Change Management.
