Role Summary:
The Senior Vice President of Fundraising is pivotal in propelling the mission of USGBC forward by spearheading and executing comprehensive fundraising initiatives. This role reports directly to the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) and is accountable for managing all facets of fundraising activities, donor relations, and revenue generation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the CGO and executive leadership to formulate and implement fundraising strategies that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
2. Cultivate and sustain relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, and diverse funding sources both domestically and internationally.
3. Execute stewardship initiatives aimed at ensuring donor retention and engagement.
4. Identify and pursue opportunities to diversify revenue streams, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, grants, events, and online fundraising campaigns.
5. Oversee the planning, execution, and assessment of fundraising campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and fundraising targets.
6. Develop and manage the fundraising budget, monitoring expenditures and revenue forecasts to meet financial goals.
7. Utilize data analytics and fundraising metrics to assess performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions to enhance fundraising efforts.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fundraising initiatives with marketing, communications, and programmatic activities.
9. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to promote awareness of USGBC and its impact.
10. Ensure compliance with relevant fundraising regulations, ethical standards, and best practices in philanthropy.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Over 15 years of experience in a nonprofit environment, demonstrating a successful track record in development, including managing diverse donor relationships and expanding donor bases both domestically and internationally.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, as well as collaboratively within a team, effectively engaging with individuals across various levels of the organization and externally.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging a broad range of donors and fostering long-term relationships with clarity and persuasion, supported by strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proven history of successful fundraising strategy development and execution, including achieving fundraising objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and respect for others, engaging in active listening, and building effective working relationships.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to think systematically and plan effectively, with a strong track record of meeting deadlines.
