Position Overview:
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated and skilled Substance Abuse Case Management Specialist. This role is pivotal in supporting individuals facing challenges related to addiction. Key Responsibilities:
As a Substance Abuse Case Management Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that residents have access to essential drug and alcohol services. This will involve:

  • Assessing client needs and determining their appropriate level of care.
  • Reviewing and facilitating service plans to address substance abuse issues.
  • Receiving and managing referrals to appropriate treatment providers.
  • Ensuring compliance with mandated timeframes and guidelines for assessment and treatment entry.
  • Collaborating with treatment providers to develop and update comprehensive service plans.
  • Monitoring client treatment, mental health needs, and other supportive services.
  • Preparing written reports and maintaining accurate client records.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with standard working hours from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break.

Salary Information:
The starting salary for this position may be non-negotiable. Further communication regarding this position will be provided via email.

Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following minimum experience and training requirements:
  • One year as a Drug and Alcohol Case Management Specialist Trainee; or
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Chemical Dependency, Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, or Nursing, along with one year of direct service experience in counseling or case management within an alcohol or drug treatment setting; or
  • A Bachelor's Degree supplemented by 18 college credits in related social sciences and one year of direct service experience; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
Candidates must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement. Preference may be given to candidates residing in specific counties. A background investigation is required for this position, including satisfactory criminal history reports.
