Juvenile Forensic Case Manager

Position Summary
This Bilingual Case Management Specialist in the Juvenile Forensic Unit is tasked with overseeing and managing cases for individuals with mental health issues and/or intellectual disabilities who are engaged with the juvenile justice system.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves providing essential supportive counseling and forensic case management services to juvenile offenders. The Bilingual Case Management Specialist will engage with individuals and families facing unique challenges, ensuring they receive the necessary support to successfully navigate community supervision.
The specialist will work autonomously while collaborating closely with a clinical supervisor, participating in regular individual meetings, treatment team discussions, and clinical evaluations with licensed mental health professionals.
Team Collaboration
In conjunction with designated juvenile probation officers, the Bilingual Case Management Specialist will assess and implement the least intrusive and most effective treatment strategies for juvenile offenders. This approach aims to mitigate harmful behaviors and symptoms while safeguarding community welfare, in alignment with the principles of the Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP).
Additional Duties
The Bilingual Case Management Specialist may also undertake other responsibilities as directed by their immediate supervisor or other designated authorities.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with standard hours from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break. Flexibility is required, as occasional non-traditional hours may be necessary for curfew checks, meetings, court appearances, or emergencies.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following minimum experience and training requirements:
- Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1;
- Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program;
- A bachelor's degree in social welfare or a related field;
- A bachelor's degree supplemented by 12 college credits in relevant social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience;
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 12 college credits in relevant social sciences.
Note: Candidates nearing graduation with a qualifying degree/credits will be considered.
Language Proficiency
Applicants must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish. A Spanish speaking proficiency evaluation may be conducted as part of the selection process.
Legal Requirements
All candidates must successfully pass a background investigation. This position is subject to the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law, requiring satisfactory criminal history reports.
