The position involves placing orders for products that will be delivered by another team member to the store. It is essential to drive sales by effectively selling to and servicing customers. Responsibilities include rotating and stocking products on shelves, displays, coolers, vending machines, and backrooms of clients. The role also requires building displays and setting up promotional materials like pricing signs and banners, necessitating regular interaction with store management.

This position is physically demanding, involving lifting, loading, pushing, and pulling cases weighing between 20-45 pounds repeatedly over a 10-12 hour work period.

The job requires bending, reaching, and squatting while merchandising and moving products. Weekend and holiday work may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Enhance sales volume, market presence, product distribution, space allocation, and customer service in all assigned accounts.
  • Ensure product inventory meets established standards.
  • Conduct inventory checks and place orders for future deliveries.
  • Seek new business opportunities to boost volume and expand product distribution within the designated area.
  • Promote and execute sales initiatives, facilitate equipment placement, and ensure adequate product inventory.
  • Leverage point-of-purchase materials to drive sales.
  • Create selling opportunities by maintaining and increasing shelf visibility, cleaning shelves, and rotating products.
  • Deliver outstanding service to assigned accounts and foster positive relationships with all customers (e.g., effective communication, rapport building, attentiveness to customer needs, etc.).
  • Merchandise product sections and construct displays to encourage sales.
  • Complete necessary paperwork accurately, legibly, and promptly.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management, potentially including warehouse support.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Personal transportation is required to access multiple store locations during assigned shifts.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance are mandatory.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with consumer products (e.g., various products, packaging, sizes, etc.).
  • Background in the beverage industry (e.g., understanding segments, customer types, competitors, trends, etc.).
  • Experience with power equipment (e.g., lift jacks, power jacks, u-boats, pallet jacks, etc.).
  • Proficiency with handheld technology (e.g., mobile devices, etc.).
  • Experience in inventory management (e.g., current stock levels, sales projections, ordering/restocking, etc.).
  • Background in business-to-business sales (e.g., making sales calls, building customer relationships, addressing customer complaints, etc.).
  • Experience in merchandising (e.g., standards, planograms, product displays, stocking/rotating products, back-room organization, etc.).
  • Skills in managing incorrect orders (e.g., resolving order discrepancies, managing out-of-stock products, etc.).
  • Competence in performing financial and mathematical calculations (e.g., calculating profit margins, determining display sizes, etc.).
  • Experience managing a sales route (e.g., prioritizing stops, scheduling, servicing accounts, managing delivery windows, etc.).
  • Familiarity with incremental selling techniques (e.g., selling above standard orders, suggesting additional products, upselling/suggestive selling, etc.).
  • Knowledge of safety procedures (e.g., proper lifting techniques, adherence to safety protocols, etc.).
