Job Overview

Position: Educational Technician 2s and 3s - Specialized Educational Institutions

Compensation: $21.50/hour with flexible scheduling and payment options available.

Work Schedule: Align with the academic calendar (234 working days annually) and distribute your earnings evenly across 26 pay periods (salaried role). Ideal for individuals with children in school, this position includes 4 weeks of built-in vacation and accrual of 8 earned-time days throughout the year.

Alternative Option:

Work at the hourly rate in a full-time capacity, utilizing school breaks to engage in our Children's Residential Programs while accruing vacation and sick leave.

Both options qualify for overtime in residential settings.

The Morrison Center is seeking a dedicated Educational Technician 2s and 3s to contribute to our esteemed teams in specialized educational institutions. This is a full-time, year-round role with a Monday to Friday schedule, including two staff meetings/professional development sessions each week, scheduled either before or after school hours.

Our institution caters to students with diverse severe disabilities, such as autism, physical impairments, cognitive challenges, and behavioral issues. We adopt innovative approaches to meet the unique needs of our students, including opportunities for peer integration through community activities. Our multidisciplinary team comprises Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, BCBAs, and Special Education Teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational plans for both group and individual activities.
  • Document and maintain student progress records.
  • Provide personal care, including support with daily living skills and individualized feeding and toileting programs.
  • Help maintain and organize the classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, team members, and parents.
  • Foster a positive work atmosphere that enhances the Center's reputation for quality service.
  • Complete ongoing training requirements, including BHP, First Aid/CPR, and Crisis Intervention.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as an Educational Technician in the State of Maine is required.
  • Ability to assist in moving students and respond swiftly to their needs and behaviors.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • ASL skills are a plus.

Educational Requirements:
Ed Tech III Certification necessitates 90 college credit hours. Ed Tech II Certification requires 60 college credit hours and/or documented paid work experience.

Compensation:

Salary is based on certification level, experience, and chosen work schedule.

Ed Tech II - $19.50-$20.50/hour

  • Annual Earning Potential for School Year Calendar: $34,538
  • Full-Time Earning Potential for 40 hours/week (excluding holiday differentials or potential overtime): $36,504 - $38,376

Ed Tech II - $20.50-$21.50/hour

  • Annual Earning Potential for School Year Calendar: $34,538 - $36,226
  • Full-Time Earning Potential for 40 hours/week (excluding holiday differentials or potential overtime): $38,376 - $40,248
