Position Overview:
As a key member of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse (RN) is entrusted with the comprehensive nursing care, assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of each designated patient. The RN is responsible for developing, delivering, and documenting care and education provided to patients. Ensures that care plans are implemented in a secure environment through the oversight and guidance of support staff.
Adheres to departmental nursing care standards by utilizing evidence-based practices and quality measures; aligns with hospital standards through effective cost management and quality assurance processes.
Observes and complies with HIPAA regulations and standards.Qualifications and Reporting Structure:
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited Professional Nursing Program.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
Experience in an acute care environment is preferred. Essential skills include effective verbal and written communication. Basic EKG knowledge and current BLS certification are required.
Licensure and Certification Requirements:
Must hold a current Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Texas.
- Mandatory: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (to be obtained within 6 months of employment).
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
Supervisory Structure:
Reports to the Nurse Manager.
Positions that report to this role include: RN, Patient Care Technician (PCT), and Graduate Nurse.
