As a Cross-Functional Representative, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive customer service, assisting at the front end, and collaborating across various departments including packaging, stocking, rotation, production, and sanitation tasks.

- What does the role entail?
Customer Service / Sales / Stocking:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service; respond to customer inquiries regarding products, process orders, and assist with product selection
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to fulfill customer needs and enhance department sales
  • Make regular product announcements to keep customers informed
  • Adapt to a flexible schedule to accommodate shifts across different departments
  • Perform duties in various departments, including technical or perishable areas such as bakery, floral, market, etc.
  • Conduct stocking and replenishment, manage product returns and rotation, assist with inventory accuracy, and undertake additional responsibilities across the Store
  • Build, stock, and maintain displays and fixtures
  • Assist with inventory control; load, unload, and transport products
  • Prepare, package, label, rotate, merchandise, and price products
  • Acquire knowledge of multiple departments; apply understanding of processes and policies
  • Adhere to Store and department SOPs, policies, and applicable regulations
  • For the Service cross-functional team, serve as a Checker when not engaged in Cross-Functional duties

Food Safety / Sanitation Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with departmental and Store SOPs for food safety and sanitation
  • Properly operate and maintain all equipment
  • Clean and sanitize sales floors, display cases, preparation areas, and equipment
What is your background?

  • Minimum age of 18 (mandatory)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of experience in H-E-B Store operations
  • Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training

  • Familiarity with computer systems (Symbol, ACR, label machine)
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a wide range of duties across multiple departments

Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Constantly reach at waist level, grasp
  • Frequently stand and walk
  • Occasionally engage in various physical activities including bending, stooping, and lifting
  • Maintain compliance with safety and operational standards
It is essential for Partners to lift within their own safe lifting limits. If an item is too heavy, Partners should break it down into smaller, manageable components or seek assistance from another Partner or a manager.
