The Investment Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the analysis, evaluation, and reporting of investment data to ensure the accuracy of financial outcomes and analytics. This role involves managing investment reporting functions, including the assessment of investment data, internal management reporting, and the review of investment disclosures for external reporting, as well as engaging in special projects.

Experience with derivatives is highly preferred.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees processes related to net investment income, realized gains and losses, and investment yield data, ensuring compliance with SOX controls and GAAP standards. This includes the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for designated asset and investment accounting areas.
  • Conducts thorough reviews and explanations of analyses concerning net investment income, realized gains and losses, and investment yield data for all invested assets, including bonds, equities, mortgage loans, derivatives, and alternative assets, while managing the analysis and reporting of related impairments and allowances.
  • Analyzes substantial volumes of data and reports to identify discrepancies and compile financial information for reporting, while making informed recommendations.
  • Collects information to accurately assess and summarize issues, evaluates risks and challenges, collaborates to propose solutions, and implements approved changes.
  • Performs supervisory duties, including training and mentoring analysts within the team, fostering a positive and engaged work environment, and guiding associates in their professional development.
  • Provides support to the Director and VP, including special projects and oversight of Investment Accounting Analysts. Collaborates with the Director of Investment Accounting and other department members to identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and reporting, including data-related initiatives.
  • Coordinates and compiles investment information for internal and external auditors. Works with various functional areas to enhance investment reporting practices and responds to inquiries from other departments.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Capable of liaising with individuals across various operational, functional, and technical areas.
