Job Summary:
Epworth Children & Family is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Residential Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for youth ages 11-18. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise and guide youth in their daily activities, promoting social, emotional, and intellectual development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide youth in daily activities, including hygiene procedures, chores, recreational activities, therapeutic groups, and educational requirements.
- Track and document youth behavior and participation in our database and communication logs.
- Provide input and implement individual youth treatment plans in daily activities.
- Communicate with other program members regarding youth needs and concerns.
- Supervise and administer medications, and complete necessary documentation.
- Transport and accompany youth on appointments and outings.
- Ensure the general security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the facility, equipment, and supplies.
- Perform Safe Crisis Management (SCM) certified physical intervention techniques to provide crisis intervention.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with at-risk youth or adolescents displaying emotional/behavioral challenges.
- Completion of at least 60 hours of college training with major coursework in social sciences is preferred.
- Class E license (or must obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
