Role Definition

This is an entry-level position in sales, designed to support our DIY customers while meeting our sales and service targets. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of store systems, basic automotive knowledge, and familiarity with automotive parts. Additionally, the role requires the ability to source products from various suppliers and a comprehensive understanding of inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service during DIY customer interactions, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Meet personal sales targets and contribute to the overall sales objectives of the store.
  • Provide essential DIY services, including battery installations, testing, and wiper blade replacements.
  • Ensure the store meets product and operational standards.
  • Oversee inventory management tasks such as truck put-away, cycle counts, and back stock management.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including floors, restrooms, and the parking area.
  • Assist with general stocking duties, including receiving and organizing inventory.
  • Safely deliver parts to customers as required.

Success Factors

  • Basic driving and navigation skills.
  • Ability to utilize delivery tracking systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Proficiency in locating and stocking parts.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Experience with inventory systems and store equipment.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and parts lookup tools.
  • Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.

Essential Skills for Success

  • Proficient in English (Spanish is a plus); capable of effective communication and relationship building with customers and team members.
  • Able to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and parts catalogs.
  • Competent in basic mathematics for accurate calculations.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Experience

2-3 years of successful sales experience in a retail environment, focusing on delivering outstanding customer service.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role require the employee to predominantly walk or stand. The role involves talking, hearing, and using hands to handle items; reaching, climbing, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, with the potential to lift up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color perception, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Employees typically work indoors but may occasionally be exposed to outdoor conditions while performing tasks such as battery installations. The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and varying noise levels.
