Position Summary

The Civil Site Engineer plays a pivotal role in project design and layout, focusing on new product development and enhancements of existing offerings to bolster Oldcastle Infrastructure's expanding operations. This position encompasses all design-related tasks and responsibilities within the designated brand class and material type, including collaboration with operational and product management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts and evaluates design calculations and material take-offs for concrete wall panels and columns, ensuring accurate rebar design and layout.
  • Produces precise customer details and submission packages in a timely manner.
  • Assesses the accuracy of product designs and drawings generated by drafting and design teams.
  • Offers technical support and expertise to uphold quality standards and certifications.
  • Visits job sites and attends customer meetings as necessary to provide technical assistance.
  • Establishes goals and expectations to communicate regularly with key customers regarding project status and backlog.
  • Acts as a technical resource for supported wall product brands.
  • Defines product specifications, material standards, and testing requirements for operational teams, aligning with industry and customer expectations.
  • Collaborates across functions to enhance product performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness, scalability, and innovation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and an open approach.
  • Effective cross-functional collaborator capable of balancing external and internal priorities.
  • Proactive and results-oriented; an entrepreneurial self-starter who values speed, simplicity, and a passion for success.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • EIT or PE certification is preferred.
  • Experience with concrete manufactured products for infrastructure projects is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with 3D software (knowledge of Autodesk Inventor is a plus).
  • Experience in reviewing and conducting structural calculations.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
