Position Summary
The Civil Site Engineer will oversee project designs and layouts, contribute to new product development, and enhance existing products to support the expansion of Oldcastle Infrastructure's operations. This role encompasses all design-related tasks and responsibilities within the designated brand class and material type, including collaboration with operations and product management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts and evaluates design calculations and material take-offs for concrete wall panels and columns, including rebar design and layout.
- Creates precise customer details and submission packages within established timelines.
- Assesses the accuracy of product designs and drawings produced by drafting and design teams.
- Offers technical support and expertise to uphold quality standards and certifications.
- Visits job sites and attends customer meetings as necessary to provide technical assistance.
- Establishes goals and expectations to communicate regularly with key customers regarding project progress and backlog.
- Acts as a technical resource for supported wall product brands.
- Defines product specifications, material standards, and testing requirements for operational teams in line with industry and customer expectations.
- Collaborates across functions to enhance product performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness, scalability, and innovation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective cross-functional collaborator capable of balancing external and internal objectives.
- Proactive and results-oriented; an entrepreneurial self-starter with a focus on efficiency and success.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
- EIT or PE certification is preferred.
- Experience with concrete manufactured products for infrastructure projects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with 3D software (knowledge of Autodesk Inventor is a plus).
- Experience in reviewing and conducting structural calculations.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
