Kaiser Permanente is looking for a Ultrasound Technologist Level II to join our team.

Position Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs, aiding physicians in diagnosing diseases and assessing organ functionality. You will utilize advanced technology to ensure optimal diagnostic quality while adhering to safe and efficient processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills by explaining procedures to patients, alleviating their concerns, and securing their cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for examinations.
  • Select and configure ultrasound equipment based on examination specifications, including transducer selection and equipment control adjustments.
  • Operate equipment to generate images of internal organs and record diagnostic data accurately.
  • Manually maneuver the transducer over the designated body area, monitoring the sound wave display for quality assurance.
  • Capture and document images of organs displayed on the monitor or retrieve printouts for permanent records.
  • Input test data and patient information into the ultrasound system to maintain comprehensive records.
  • Assist in orienting new staff members.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
Supervisory Role:

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
Licensure and Certification:

Candidates must possess at least two certifications from the following:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Pediatric Sonography
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Ob-Gyn
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Pediatric Echocardiogram
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Fetal Echocardiography
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Breast
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Basic Life Support Certification
Additional Requirements:
  • NT certification is necessary for conducting genetic screenings at Prenatal Diagnostic Centers. Candidates may be hired without certification but must obtain it within 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrated competency in performing both registered specialties is required.
