Position Overview:

Kaiser Permanente is in search of a qualified Ultrasound Technologist II to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in providing high-quality imaging services to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Under the guidance of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Radiology, you will perform two-dimensional ultrasonic imaging of internal organs.
  • Utilize advanced technology to ensure the highest diagnostic quality in patient care while adhering to safe and efficient practices.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, alleviating any concerns and ensuring cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for examinations, selecting appropriate equipment based on the specific requirements of each ultrasound.
  • Adjust equipment settings, including transducer selection, to optimize imaging based on the organ being examined.
  • Operate ultrasound machinery to capture images and record diagnostic data accurately.
  • Monitor the quality of ultrasonic patterns produced and document results meticulously.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of test results and patient information within the ultrasound system.
  • Assist in training new staff members and perform other related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

Experience: Not applicable
Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.

Licenses and Certifications: Candidates must possess at least two certifications from the following list:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Pediatric Sonography Certification
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Ob-Gyn
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
  • Pediatric Echocardiogram Certification
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Breast
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Abdomen
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate

Additionally, Basic Life Support certification is required. NT certification is necessary for performing genetic screening.
