Position Overview

The MRI Technologist II is responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to capture detailed cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluation. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and patient interaction, ensuring high-quality imaging while maintaining a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient imaging studies in accordance with established protocols, ensuring the correct positioning of coils.
  • Utilize imaging equipment effectively to deliver quality diagnostic services, including programming scan sequences and adjusting equipment settings.
  • Communicate with patients to explain MRI procedures, addressing any concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Maintain safety standards by monitoring the environment for hazardous materials and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new staff and students in MRI procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to MRI Technologists I in their professional development.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the imaging department.
Qualifications:Basic Requirements:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a MRI Technologist, demonstrating proficiency in all relevant duties.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Certification in Venipuncture (California) within six months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Skills:
  • Proven ability to teach and mentor other Technologists.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to present information effectively in various settings.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ARRT certification is preferred.
