Kaiser Permanente is looking for a Radiology Technologist II to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview

This role involves performing essential radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures under the supervision of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging. The technologist will operate radiographic equipment to generate high-quality images that assist healthcare professionals in diagnosing various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic imaging: Execute both specialized and routine radiology procedures with precision.
  • Patient Interaction: Demonstrate professionalism and empathy by explaining procedures to patients, helping to alleviate their concerns and ensuring cooperation.
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare and position patients effectively for imaging procedures, utilizing immobilization devices as necessary.
  • Equipment Operation: Set exposure factors based on patient specifics and adjust equipment controls to capture images with the required detail and accuracy.
  • Mobile Imaging: Operate mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including operating rooms and emergency departments.
  • Collaboration: Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians during fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations.
  • Image Processing: Prepare and process images for review, ensuring proper identification and quality control.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment, coordinating repairs as needed.
  • Safety Practices: Implement radiation protection techniques to safeguard patients and staff.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Training: Mentor new staff and provide training to students.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist in California, including Venipuncture and Fluoroscopy Certificates.
  • Basic Life Support certification.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to perform general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information clearly.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
