Job Overview

Classification: Part-time; Monday-Friday between 2pm-6:30pm; up to 4 hours daily; compensation ranges from $12 to $12.50 per hour; summer hours may vary.

General Purpose:
Responsible for planning, executing, facilitating, and overseeing various activities and programs. Ensure the safety of participants, the quality of programs, and the overall appearance of the facility at all times. Program Specialists/Aids will report to work only as needed within their designated area.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to effectively interact with staff, youth, parents, community leaders, educational institutions, and religious organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of youth development principles.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Comprehension of the organization's philosophy, vision, and objectives.
- Capability to build and maintain positive relationships with youth.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or a college degree.
- 6 months to 2 years of experience in program delivery. (Hourly wage is contingent upon education and experience level.)

Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and promote the organization's Core Values.
- Implement educational curricula.
- Plan, execute, facilitate, and oversee programs and activities.
- Provide mentorship and role modeling to participants.
- Create engaging and informative displays and bulletin boards that highlight program areas.
- Assist in the implementation of national initiatives and exhibitions.
- Inspire and mentor youth, adults, and volunteers in creative endeavors.
- Maintain records of participants, schedules, attendance, and program outcomes.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR is mandatory.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
Must be adept at managing multiple projects alongside daily responsibilities. Ability to interact positively with diverse personalities while demonstrating tact, maturity, and adaptability. Physical demands include visual and auditory capabilities, standing for extended periods, and the ability to implement programs effectively. Essential skills for success include communication, writing, and computer proficiency.

Work Environment:
Work settings include after-school and recreational environments, both indoors and outdoors. Occasional weekend and evening shifts may be required to support fundraising events and activities.
