Senior Sales and Business Development Manager

Luminar Semiconductor Inc. is a leading developer of state-of-the-art semiconductor devices for various markets, including aerospace and defense, optical sensing, and instrumentation.
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Sales and Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the expansion of existing businesses and developing new customers and markets.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence
- Identify and pursue new photonics business opportunities in aerospace and defense, optical sensing, and instrumentation markets
- Manage and expand relationships with key accounts, focusing on cultivating long-term partnerships and driving customer satisfaction
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, define customer needs, and analyze the competitive landscape
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative product offerings tailored to customer requirements
- Drive the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring effective communication and negotiation throughout the cycle
- Provide accurate sales forecasts for long-term planning
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their business challenges and providing tailored solutions that help them meet their objectives
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field
- Proven track record of at least a decade of successful business management and sales experience
- Extensive experience in overseeing account management and strategic selling of photonics products in industrial, defense, and commercial markets
- Strong knowledge and expertise in diversified products, particularly photonics and optoelectronics components based on photodetectors and lasers
- Experience in managing business development/sales teams
- Excellent relationship building and negotiations skills
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Results-oriented mindset with a passion for achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and develop strategic solutions
- Advanced degree such as an MBA or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally, with a focus on customer satisfaction and driving business growth
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Operational experience in a business focused on semiconductor device fabrication
- Experience in the defense industry and familiarity with related regulations and compliance standards
