Job Overview

Join Rely Innovations as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer and play a pivotal role in the development of cutting-edge electrical systems for consumer electronics. This position offers a unique opportunity to spearhead the electrical engineering initiatives from initial concept through to successful product launch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with marketing and multidisciplinary engineering teams to establish product features and specifications.
  • Design and negotiate electrical hardware solutions that fulfill or surpass product requirements, including schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping, testing, and debugging of both digital and analog circuits.
  • Take a leadership role in drafting technical specifications derived from product requirements.
  • Oversee the electrical bring-up, debugging, and validation processes for both analog and digital designs.
  • Develop test documentation and execute electrical verification testing as necessary.
  • Work alongside internal teams and external manufacturing partners to transition products into mass production.
  • Monitor and report on product costs and potential component sourcing risks.
  • Establish and enforce best practices and policies for electrical hardware release and revision control.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing electrical hardware for consumer electronics.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in IoT product design is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with designing electrical systems utilizing various microcontrollers and processors is a plus.
  • Proficient in interfacing with processor peripherals such as SDIO, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Experience in both analog and digital electrical design.
  • Expertise in sensor and transducer design.
  • Strong knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity principles.
  • Proven experience in designing cost-effective and reliable electrical platforms.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical/electrical assembly for rapid prototyping.
  • Skilled in using laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Effective in communicating technical data/results, issues, impacts, and corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of PCB layout and construction is beneficial.
  • Experience in designing products to meet safety standards is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of Agile and Waterfall NPD processes is advantageous.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI design practices and testing.
  • Familiarity with high-speed digital design and layout techniques.
  • Experience with thermal management in electronic systems.
  • Proficient in simulation tools for circuit analysis and design optimization.
  • Understanding of compliance standards and regulatory requirements for consumer electronics.
  • Experience with firmware development and debugging is an added advantage.
