Position Overview
This is a full-time role within the Department of Student Services, directly reporting to the Director of the Student Health Center.

The candidate must hold valid licensure from the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and the Arkansas Department of Health Limited Licensure program.

Key Responsibilities

The LPN with Limited X-ray Licensure will oversee the coordination of x-ray examinations, which entails operating medical imaging devices to generate diagnostic images.

This role also includes managing inventory and maintaining radiologic documentation.

Additionally, the position involves delivering direct patient care to clients, scheduling external diagnostic tests with prior authorization for students and staff, and effectively assessing and treating within the defined scope of practice, adhering to Arkansas State Laws.


Patient Management Duties:

  • Adhere to patient confidentiality policies and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct x-ray procedures in accordance with the limitations of the licensure.
  • Supervise, train, and guide clinic assistants and part-time staff in daily tasks.
  • Provide direct nursing care, accurately assessing and treating patients in line with the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Document all findings and patient care accurately and legibly, utilizing the clinic's Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Educate patients regarding their diagnoses.
  • Perform selected procedures independently.
  • Refer patients appropriately to Registered Nurses, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Physicians, or local healthcare providers.
  • Assist in administering medications as directed and ensure documentation in EHR.
  • Contribute to the development of patient treatment plans and related documentation.
  • Evaluate patient responses to treatments and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Provide emergency care and treatment as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of clinic equipment usage and upkeep.
  • Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance of clinical areas and waste disposal systems.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Familiarity with x-ray procedures and radiation safety protocols. Understanding of nursing principles and practices. Capability to deliver direct nursing care. Ability to monitor and evaluate patient conditions. Proficiency in instructing patients in standard medical care.

Required Qualifications

Licensure from the Arkansas Department of Health in accordance with the Consumer-Patient Radiation Health and Safety Act, which mandates that individuals utilizing radioactive materials or medical equipment emitting or detecting ionizing radiation for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes must be licensed.

Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Arkansas State Nursing Board, following the relevant state regulations. Additional qualifications may be considered upon approval by the qualifications review committee.
