Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Critical Care Unit will possess the expertise to provide care for patients in various high-acuity settings, including the Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Cardiac Stepdown Unit.

This RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, fellow nurses, patient care technicians, and specialists from departments such as Laboratory, Radiology, and Respiratory Therapy.

The RN will be integral in delivering care to patients facing traumatic injuries and critical illnesses, including severe conditions such as heart attacks and strokes, along with managing cardiac, post-surgical, respiratory, and psychiatric cases.

Working within a dynamic environment, this RN will strive to provide compassionate and high-quality care to a diverse patient demographic, ranging from neonates to elderly individuals.

The responsibilities include assessing and monitoring a variety of health conditions, administering medications, and executing procedures such as moderate sedation, intraosseous and intravascular therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

This RN will routinely evaluate both episodic and acute responses to a wide range of physical and psychosocial conditions, while also managing the planning and execution of appropriate interventions.

Utilizing the nursing process, the RN will deliver care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas, alongside the policies, procedures, and standards set forth by the Health System.


Safety Sensitive Position:
This role is classified as a "Safety Sensitive Position" under the relevant state legislation.

It is essential for employees in this position to maintain a clear state of mind, as any impairment could pose a risk to patient safety, which Conway Regional is committed to upholding.

Qualifications
- Active and current Registered Nurse license in Arkansas is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- If the candidate has less than one year of experience as a Registered Nurse, obtaining a BSN within four years of hire is mandatory.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
- Critical Care experience is advantageous.
- Proof of high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
- Successful completion of the Medication Administration Exam is required.
- Basic keyboarding skills are preferred.
