Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse-Patient Care Specialist at Conway Medical Center is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician in a patient care area. This role involves providing and documenting direct nursing care of assigned patients, adhering to physician orders and the nursing plan of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Assist physicians and other nursing personnel with diagnostic procedures and patient care tasks.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse program.
  • Current licensure as LPN in South Carolina (or compact state) in good standing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Previous acute care experience and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems experience preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Occasional exposure to difficult patients.
  • Stress level high due to multiple demands frequently occurring simultaneously.
  • Radiation and biohazardous/infectious materials risk prevalent.
  • Prolonged standing and walking required.
Physical Requirements

Medium - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
