POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Controllers Division is essential in ensuring that our firm adheres to all financial control and reporting requirements as a global, regulated, and publicly traded financial institution. Within this department, our experts assess the profitability and risks associated with every facet of the firm's operations. Additionally, we ensure compliance with regulations governing financial market transactions.

The Controllers Group is seeking a Vice President based in Dallas, TX, to join our fund accounting team. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Oversight of investment and new product evaluations.
  • Management of information provided by third-party administrators.
  • Continuous design and execution of the control environment.

Collaboration is key, as the team will work closely with various sectors within GSAM, including investment, risk management, client services, operations, technology, legal, and compliance.

The Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group provides comprehensive investment and advisory solutions across various sectors, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, public equity, and fixed income strategies. Our team manages diversified programs and tailored portfolios, ensuring that our investors can access a wide array of opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team responsible for preparing regulatory compliance reports and documentation for the Board of Directors related to funds.
  • Engage in new fund launches, including reviewing fund documentation and vendor selection.
  • Support team and departmental managers on various special projects.
  • Oversee technology initiatives, defining project scope, managing timelines, and coordinating testing efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • CPA designation preferred, with experience in investment companies.
  • Experience in private equity is advantageous.
  • Strong technical expertise in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
