Position Overview
Dallas College is in search of a skilled Facilities Operations Supervisor who possesses a solid background in planning, executing, assessing, and organizing facilities management tasks within a vibrant higher education setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the physical facilities at one of the Dallas College campuses or support buildings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Manage and direct the activities of trades, custodial services, landscaping, and general maintenance teams.
- Assist in the execution of the assigned budget and support construction-related projects as needed.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders to ensure high-quality customer service and promote the mission of the Facilities Management department.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or higher, along with five years of relevant experience, including three years in a supervisory role, or ten years of related experience with five years in a supervisory capacity.
- Valid Texas driver's license is mandatory.
- Proven experience in facilities management, fiscal oversight, resource allocation, and personnel supervision.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
Essential Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of community college operations and the vision of Dallas College.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and energy management principles.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing educational environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
This position involves standard office environment tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with physical challenges to perform essential duties.
