Job Summary

The Instructional Support Technician (IST) plays a vital role in supporting the School of Nursing faculty, staff, and students in utilizing educational technologies. This position requires a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to provide top-notch support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with technical support requests for the Learning Management System (LMS) and other educational technologies.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in classrooms and conference rooms.
  • Record and document support requests from users for future reference.
  • Audit and update instructional support materials, SharePoint sites, and documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned by the School of Nursing.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of experience in a technology-related field preferred.
  • Computer coursework may be substituted year-for-year for the required experience.
  • Journey-level experience requires an additional six months; advanced-level experience requires an additional year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Windows, MacOS, and iOS operating systems.
  • Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Computer and peripheral troubleshooting experience.
  • LMS experience, such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Sakai, or similar.
  • Virtual meeting experience, including knowledge of extended features such as cloud recording, breakout rooms, and live transcription.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
