Employment:
Full time

Team:
Hardware

Location:
Los Angeles, CA (in-person)

About Us
Moonware is an innovative startup focused on transforming the future of air travel through automated and sustainable airfield solutions.

We are developing a cohesive ecosystem of AI-driven software and intelligent vehicles that effectively link ground personnel, aircraft, and support equipment to ensure timely flight services.

Our vision encompasses the autonomous management of aircraft from landing to takeoff, facilitating seamless transitions for an enhanced airport experience.

Founded on the premise that multimodal air transport will dominate the movement of people and goods in the 21st century, we are pioneering advancements from eVTOLs for urban commuting to supersonic aircraft that significantly reduce intercontinental travel times.

To meet the demands of modern air travel, airports and their connecting hubs must evolve.

Despite technological advancements in aircraft, the necessary infrastructure and ground operations to support these new aerial systems remain largely outdated.

Our team comprises experts from Tesla, Waymo, NASA, Google, Uber, and Corvette, bringing extensive experience in aerospace, automotive, and robotics to redefine the airfields of the future.

Software Team
Moonware's software division is dedicated to developing HALO, the operating system for aviation ground handling operations.

HALO is an AI-enhanced Ground Traffic Control platform designed to optimize aircraft turnaround processes, ensuring that ramp crews and ground support equipment (GSE) work in harmony to meet flight schedules.

Our core optimizer integrates flight data, GSE locations, and crew assignments to create efficient service missions. Position trackers on GSE provide real-time location data, which informs application-specific functionalities.

Crew and GSE are managed through a mobile application that adapts to real-time flight changes, featuring smart routing to guide ground crew drivers across the airfield, thereby enhancing efficiency.

Real-time task distribution and dynamic vehicle routing are executed in the cloud, replacing traditional communication methods.

This digital transition allows us to gather extensive data on vehicle movements, interactions among ground handling personnel, and service punctuality.

By aggregating data from various airport hubs, we can develop robust machine learning models that account for airfield traffic patterns and specific airport constraints.

This data-driven approach helps identify bottlenecks in ground operations and suggests enhancements through 'last-mile' ramp services utilizing autonomous GSE.

This initiative represents our commitment to achieving airfield autonomy.
