Electronic Systems Design Engineer

Company Overview: Teledyne Electronic Safety Products specializes in the design, development, qualification, and manufacturing of a diverse range of compact and highly dependable products, often utilized in the operation of explosive devices such as EEDs (Electro-Explosive Devices), EBWs (Exploding Bridge Wires), EFIs (Exploding Foil Initiators), and ESADs (Electronics Safety and Arm Devices). Our product applications serve critical sectors including Aircrew Safety, Launch and Tactical Vehicles, and Energetic Devices.
Position Summary: The Electronic Systems Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, testing, and debugging of electronic systems tailored for time-sensitive aerospace applications. This role requires close collaboration with clients and internal teams to thoroughly understand and document system requirements, leading to the creation of robust engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the principal designer and developer for all electrical and electronic components of system design.
- Ensure that the design solutions comply with regulatory standards and qualification criteria, while maintaining timely documentation.
- Provide comprehensive product lifecycle support, including testing, deployment, and updates.
- Work independently while proactively offering regular status updates and reports to program management.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, customer presentations, and program milestone meetings.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Electronics/Systems Engineering or a related discipline is required.
- 5-10 years of experience in design engineering, specifically in electronics.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
Competencies:
- Thorough understanding of the formal design process for embedded system development, including concept, design, planning, requirements, documentation, and reporting.
- Familiarity with ground-up digital system design and experience with serial and network-based protocols.
- Proficient in schematic capture, simulation, and PWB layout.
- Experience in design integration, verification, and validation processes.
