Job Overview

The Senior Benefits Analyst plays a crucial role in the execution and management of comprehensive benefit programs. This position emphasizes data analysis and compliance with healthcare regulations. The analyst oversees data management related to the Benefits Center of Excellence, focusing on evaluating employee eligibility for various benefits and assessing the financial implications for the organization. The role also involves addressing compliance and regulatory challenges through precise reporting and data insights.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Management of Benefits Programs
    1. Creates and maintains diverse reports and queries using suitable reporting tools. Aids in the establishment of standard reports for continuous evaluation. Ensures data integrity by conducting analyses and running queries.
    2. Verifies timely and compliant eligibility for employees entitled to coverage, and ensures prompt ineligibility for those no longer qualified.
    3. Designs communication strategies and enrollment plans to meet various notification and reporting obligations.
    4. Utilizes data to monitor and reconcile employee participation in Public Exchanges.
    5. Contributes to the development of self-service resources for benefits and the implementation of the organization-wide enrollment process, including training for relevant teams.
    6. Integrates automated tools for time management, payroll, and benefits administration to assist HR leaders in identifying workforce management opportunities and mitigating healthcare costs.
    7. Generates specialized reports as requested by management and actively engages in reporting activities related to benefit programs.
  2. Collaboration and Relationship Management
    1. Creates tailored reports to fulfill management requests and participates in benefit program reporting.
    2. Acts as a point of contact for other HR functions and stakeholders, addressing complex inquiries and providing necessary training on employee benefits.
    3. Facilitates benefits training and education through presentations as required.
    4. Promotes positive communication and interpersonal relationships with Shared Services staff, HR departments, employees, vendors, and the public, fostering a proactive image of the department.
  3. Quality Assurance and Improvement
    1. Suggests enhancements to processes and customer service, innovative solutions, and policy modifications, which require leadership approval prior to implementation.
    2. Monitors self-service tools and supports HR Information System (HRIS) enhancement initiatives.
    3. Participates in the annual review of benefit policies to ensure accuracy and alignment with the overall benefits strategy.
    4. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations by monitoring applicable laws and keeping accurate records.
    5. Collaborates with vendors to identify challenges and develop solutions for complex issues.
  4. Additional Responsibilities
    1. Assists the HR team with various projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in benefits administration

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Skills: Proficient analytical skills; Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite; Strong oral and written communication abilities; Attention to detail and accuracy; Excellent organizational and time management capabilities; Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
