Job Overview

The Senior Benefits Analyst plays a crucial role in the execution and management of comprehensive benefit programs. This position emphasizes data analysis and compliance with healthcare regulations. The analyst is responsible for managing data and conducting thorough analyses related to the Benefits Center of Excellence. This includes evaluating employee eligibility for ACA coverage and other benefit initiatives to assess their impact, costs, and the number of employees affected. The role also involves addressing regulatory, risk, and compliance challenges through precise reporting and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Benefits Program Management and Daily Operations
    1. Develops, maintains, and supports a variety of reports or queries using relevant reporting tools. Aids in the creation of standard reports for ongoing evaluation. Ensures data integrity in systems by executing queries and analyzing results.
    2. Confirms that employees eligible for benefits are enrolled in a timely and compliant manner. Ensures timely removal of ineligible employees from coverage.
    3. Creates employee communication and enrollment strategies to meet various notification and reporting obligations.
    4. Utilizes necessary data to track and reconcile with government entities for employees opting for Public Exchange.
    5. Assists in the development of self-service tools for benefits and the implementation of a company-wide enrollment process, including training the HR Performance Team on updates.
    6. Integrates automated time and labor management systems, payroll services, and benefits administration to manage assigned hours, aiding HR leaders in identifying workforce management opportunities and minimizing healthcare costs and federal penalties.
    7. Generates specialized reports as required to fulfill management requests and actively engages in reporting efforts concerning benefit programs.
  2. Collaboration & Relationship Management
    1. Creates specialized reports as needed to meet management requests and actively participates in benefit program reporting.
    2. Acts as a liaison with other HR functions and internal/external stakeholders, addressing complex inquiries and providing necessary training on employee benefits.
    3. Facilitates benefits training and education through presentations as required.
    4. Promotes positive communication and interpersonal relationships with Shared Services staff, affiliate HR departments, employees, vendors, and the public, fostering a proactive image of the department.
  3. Quality Assurance and Performance Enhancement
    1. Recommends enhancements to processes and customer service, innovative solutions, policy amendments, and significant deviations from established policies, subject to leadership approval.
    2. Monitors self-service tools and supports HRIS improvement initiatives.
    3. Participates in the annual review of all relevant benefit policies to ensure accuracy and alignment with the overall benefits and total rewards strategy.
    4. Tracks applicable regulations and maintains records to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
    5. Collaborates with vendors to identify issues and develop solutions for complex challenges.
  4. Additional Responsibilities
    1. Provides support to the HR team on assigned projects.
Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in benefits-related roles.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.

Skills: Advanced analytical capabilities; Proficient in MS Office Suite, data input and extraction, and report preparation across various computer systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills; Attention to detail and accuracy; Excellent organizational and time management abilities; Proficient in multitasking.
