We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller to join our team in the healthcare/medical industry. This role is critical to our organization, as it involves managing the Accounts Receivable (AR), Revenue and billing functions of our healthcare organization.
### Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all aspects of medical billing and collections for our healthcare organization.
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the AR department to ensure accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable aging components.
* Develop, implement, and maintain systems, methodologies, and procedures for billing.
* Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of billing practices and make recommendations for improved operational efficiency.
* Develop and maintain productive relationships with payers and providers.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies related to billing and collections.
* Train, mentor, and provide direction to the AR team.
* Collaborate with other departments to streamline billing procedures and ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of billing data and revenue cycle processes.
* Prepare and present reports on billing activities and effectiveness to senior management.
### Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing and collections, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
* Proven experience in managing the revenue cycle, including patient billing, insurance reimbursement, and collections.
* Expert knowledge of medical billing procedures, codes, and regulations.
* Proficient in using medical software and billing systems.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and protecting patient confidentiality.
