Position Overview:

The Senior Project Engineering Manager is responsible for the design and execution of traffic engineering initiatives, emphasizing traffic signal systems, signage, road markings, and comprehensive analyses. This role acts as a technical authority, offering internal consultancy across various projects within the organization. Key responsibilities encompass defining project scopes, ensuring client satisfaction, managing contract pricing, delivering engineering services, overseeing project execution, resource allocation, and achieving deadlines and profitability targets. The individual may also take on the role of Engineer of Record for project documentation.

  • Deliver expert guidance to project leaders for proposals and client engagements
  • Collaborate with project leaders in the planning and development phases
  • Direct the creation of project outputs, including signing and sealing work as a Registered Professional Engineer
  • Conduct site assessments and generate detailed reports
  • Supervise and guide engineers and technicians assigned to projects
  • Facilitate communication and teamwork among project personnel
  • Stay informed on engineering advancements and methodologies
  • Propose effective solutions for project challenges
  • Engage with suppliers on technical matters
  • Select suitable materials and equipment for project needs
  • Manage complex and large-scale projects proficiently

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline is mandatory.

Professional Experience:

A minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience and licensure in Texas is essential. Familiarity with MicroStation, GIS, and associated design software is preferred. Attainment of professional licensure in necessary states is required. TxDOT pre-certification is advantageous.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel may be necessary, both within and outside the state, depending on project demands. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
