Position Overview

The Medical Imaging Technician II is responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and performance verification of sophisticated medical imaging systems. This includes, but is not limited to, general radiographic rooms, fluoroscopy, portable imaging devices, C-arms, mammography, nuclear medicine, computed radiography, digital radiography, ultrasound, and bone density systems. Familiarity with various classes of clinical equipment is essential, and maintenance may extend to equipment outside of these specialties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Service (40%)
    • Conduct performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, and operational verification procedures on advanced medical imaging systems.
    • Repair, install, and calibrate complex imaging equipment.
    • Communicate repair statuses, scheduled inspections, and customer concerns to supervisors.
    • Oversee and document the activities of subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality service delivery.
    • Maintain expertise in Clinical Engineering through continuous education and training.
    • Participate in special projects and mentor colleagues to enhance team capabilities.
  • Regulatory Compliance (25%)
    • Ensure the accuracy of the equipment database, including inventory and service history.
    • Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan and comply with all regulatory requirements.
    • Guarantee that all service documentation is complete and accurate.
    • Collaborate with Medical Physicists to ensure compliance with radiation safety standards.
  • Account Relationship Management (25%)
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
    • Discuss equipment functionality and status with healthcare professionals.
    • Represent TriMedx services positively by embodying our core values.
  • Inventory Management (10%)
    • Conduct regular inspections of inventory and maintain essential spare parts.
    • Verify security analyses for new equipment.
    • Perform incoming inspections to ensure accurate inventory records for medical devices.
    • Make recommendations for inventory improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of medical imaging equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to equipment servicing, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.

Education

  • Associate degree in a technical or electronics field, or equivalent experience. Certification from TRIMEDX or a similar biomedical program may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including troubleshooting and basic networking.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
