Position Summary

The Medical Imaging Technician II is responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and performance verification of sophisticated medical imaging systems. This role encompasses a wide range of equipment, including general radiographic systems, fluoroscopy, portable units, C-arms, mammography, nuclear medicine, computed radiography, digital radiography, ultrasound, and bone density systems. Familiarity with various classes of clinical equipment is essential, as maintenance may extend beyond specialty areas. The technician ensures compliance with regulatory standards, assists in managing inventory, and provides technical guidance to colleagues regarding specialized equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Services - 40%

  • Conduct performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, and operational verification procedures on advanced medical imaging systems.
  • Execute repairs, installations, and calibrations of complex imaging equipment.
  • Communicate repair statuses, inspection schedules, and customer concerns to supervisors.
  • Oversee and document the activities of subcontractors and vendors to guarantee effective service delivery.
  • Enhance Clinical Engineering knowledge through continuous training and education.
  • Participate in special projects and mentor colleagues by sharing expertise.

Regulatory Compliance - 25%

  • Maintain the accuracy of the equipment database, including inventory, performance assurance schedules, and service history.
  • Comply with the Medical Equipment Management Plan and all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all service documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.
  • Collaborate with Medical Physicists to ensure accurate radiation outputs for compliance and patient safety.

Account Relationship Management - 25%

  • Establish and nurture customer relationships.
  • Discuss equipment functionality and status with clinical staff.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Represent TriMedx services positively by integrating core values into daily operations.

Inventory Management - 10%

  • Conduct periodic inspections of inventory and maintain a stock of commonly failing parts to ensure equipment availability.
  • Verify the completion of security assessments for new equipment.
  • Perform incoming inspections to maintain an accurate inventory of medical devices.
  • Make recommendations regarding inventory management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical imaging systems.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and operating tools during equipment servicing.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.

Education

  • Associate degree in a technical or electronics field, or equivalent experience. Certification from TRIMEDX or a related biomedical program may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Proficient in complex computer skills, including error code interpretation and basic networking.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with effective communication abilities.
