Northwestern Medicine stands at the forefront of healthcare, committed to a patient-centered philosophy within a supportive work atmosphere. As a Radiation Safety Medical Physicist II, you will play a crucial role in our Imaging Physics department, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and conducting equipment evaluations across various imaging technologies. Collaborate effectively with technologists and radiologists to enhance imaging techniques and clinical practices. Additionally, you will provide mentorship to junior physicists and engage in hospital committees focused on medical imaging governance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Conduct physics assessments across diverse imaging modalities
  • Enhance equipment utilization and formulate clinical protocols
  • Deliver education and training in imaging physics
  • Engage in hospital committees and mentor less experienced physicists
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Medical Physics or a related discipline
  • Board Certification by the ABR in Diagnostic Medical Physics
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Diagnostic Medical Physicist
