Refrigeration Systems Supervisor Compensation:
$100 – $125K Salary with a 7.5% annual incentive bonus

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Ammonia Refrigeration. Management experience is not mandatory; 1 year is acceptable. Onsite work is Monday to Friday (8 hours), with 24-hour on-call responsibilities.

Position Overview:

The Refrigeration Systems Supervisor is tasked with overseeing Ammonia Refrigeration systems and ensuring the maintenance of equipment and facilities to support operational efficiency.

This role is crucial for managing the Ammonia System at the facility, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards as outlined by EPSM.

The Refrigeration Systems Supervisor will be responsible for training, scheduling, and supervising Refrigeration Technicians, ensuring they meet all safety training requirements and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct timely and effective preventative maintenance on all components of the ammonia refrigeration system, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and valves, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Replace malfunctioning refrigeration equipment as necessary.
  • Adjust equipment temperature settings to meet customer requirements while maintaining product integrity.
  • Oversee the water treatment system and manage associated chemicals.
  • Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Monitor third-party maintenance contractors to ensure adherence to company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform regular ammonia and oil sampling for analytical purposes.
  • Train team members on ammonia leak and spill response procedures, providing additional coaching as needed.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and conduct leak and spill drills to meet safety requirements.
  • Inspect, test, and calibrate ammonia detection systems as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Completion of college coursework or continuing technical education, or equivalent business experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Ammonia Refrigeration is essential.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) is required, or the ability to receive in-house PSM training within 90 days.
  • Certification as a Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) Level 1 from the Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) or a Refrigeration Operator Class 1 license is required, or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is necessary.
  • Ability to supervise a small team in a high-volume operational environment.
  • Contributes to the development of processes and procedures within the functional area.
