Overview:


We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nurses (ADON) to ensure exceptional care for our patients at Huntsville Healthcare.

The ADON will be responsible for organizing, directing, and overseeing the nursing team's operations, nursing initiatives, and compliance with facility policies as well as relevant state and federal regulations. This role will also involve customizing procedures to guarantee the highest standard of quality care as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Operate and supervise within the defined scope of practice for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state.

2) Engage in the formulation, review, and modification of the philosophy, objectives, and standards of practice for the nursing department.

3) Make administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing.

4) Review, maintain, and update nursing department job descriptions and policies and procedures as required.

5) Adhere to the nursing department's budgetary guidelines for operations.

6) Ensure equitable staffing schedules are created, routinely updated, posted for staff, and that time-off requests are managed according to policy, while maintaining daily staffing PPD's in accordance with policy and regulation.

7) Collaborate with nursing staff and support personnel in planning facility services, progress, and activities as necessary.

8) Contribute to establishing a competitive wage, salary, and benefits plan for nursing department personnel.

9) Assist in pre-screening resident referrals for admission appropriateness, working with necessary departments to ensure proper room assignments and address any specialized needs or conditions as indicated.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Walking, sitting, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine-hand coordination. Ability to hear and respond to overhead pages. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, personnel, vendors, and consultants. Ability to apply training and in-service education provided. Must maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance and demonstrate a positive demeanor with employees and residents.
